CAPS
(until someone suggests a better name and acronym!) is the Calvin
Alumni Philosophy Society
It's almost Spring, 2007, and CAPS wants to send out rootlets and sprout
new leaves!
The purpose of CAPS is to allow us to do a number of cool things with
our former philosophy majors, including:
1) Support one another, by forming a community where you share with us
and each other your ongoing life journey;
2) Provide forums where you can continue to do philosophy with each other;
3) Allow you to share your real world experience in a way that contributes
to carrying out our mission at Calvin;
4) Keep you posted on news and events at Calvin;
5) Whatever else we can figure out to do!
To join CAPS, you need to enroll on "Knightvision"
as a Calvin alumnae/us. This is a Two-Step process.
Step One: go to www.calvin.edu,
and click on "alumni" and then on "registration."
You will be asked for your "alumni record number." If you get
"Spark" (Calvin's alumni magazine) you can find this on the
mailing label right above your address. If you don't get Spark, you can
call the Alumni office and get subscribed; they'll also tell you your
alumni record number. (You can also try your old student ID number, which
may just have been your Social Security number.) In a few days, you will
receive your Knightvision password, and full alumni privileges for Knightvision.
Step Two: go to Calvin's website, and click your way
to our website along the following devious path: alumni.>knightvision>
and then >Community>Alumni Association Organization> Philosophy
Alumni Org. Click on "enroll", type in the secret password (it
is "socrates"). And you are now, I hope, in like Calv-In!
