The upcoming Petra: Lost City of Stone exhibition at Calvin College has secured a lead, local sponsor in Huntington Bank - West Michigan.

Jim Dunlap, the regional president of Huntington Bank - West Michigan, says sponsoring the Petra exhibition is in keeping with the bank's committment to partner with local organizations to help improve the quality of life in the community.

"And," he adds, "the exhibition will be a wonderful opportunity for all of us to learn more about the ancient culture of Jordan and the incredible archaeologic finds that will be on display."

Huntington Bank - West Michigan has 70 offices on Michigan's "west coast," from Kalamazoo in the south all the way into northern Michigan.

"We operate as a local bank with national resources," says Dunlap "and become deeply involved with the communities that we serve."

Calvin Grateful for Huntington's Support

Calvin president Gaylen Byker is grateful for that local involvement.

"Putting on Petra," he says, "is a significant challenge for Calvin College. It's one that we're up to, but we could not do it without local partnerships. Having Huntington - West Michigan as a lead, local sponsor for Petra is very gratifying. The exhibition is spectacular, and we're excited about its opening in April."
