What to Bring to Calvin

Move In Day, August 31, 2005We advise students to bring not more than one carload of belongings when they move into the residence halls. The residence hall basements provide some secured, but shared, storage space, but most student belongings will be stored with them in their room. How should students decide what to bring along?

Take the essentials:

  • Cleaning cloths
  • Clothes for warm & cold weather
  • Comforter
  • Desk supplies
  • Dish soap
  • Extra-long twin sheets

  • Health insurance card

  • Laundry basket/bag & detergent
  • Microwave-safe dishes
  • Pillows & pillow cases
  • School supplies
  • Silverware
  • Soap & toiletries
  • Umbrella
  • Washcloths

Students who are interested in working on campus will need to complete an INS form I-9 on their first work day. This form requires new employees to present original documents (not photocopies) that establish their employment eligibility. The list of acceptable documents is available online.
