StreetFest, which will take place all over the greater Grand Rapids area on Thursday, August 29, is a service-learning opportunity which is part of QUEST, the orientation program for first-year students. During StreetFest (#CalvinSF), we explore our call of doing God’s work in God’s world by joining over 60 community organizations in their work. Parent Oasis tent
Don't forget that the Parent Oasis tent will be up on Wednesday, August 28—move-in day for first-year students, 11 a.m.–5 p.m., for questions and refreshments. Look for the tent on the lawn between Rooks-Van Dellen and Schultze-Eldersveld residence halls.

Student Treats are now ready to be ordered for your student(s) for 2013-2014. These are a fun and easy way to let your student know, throughout the school year, that you are thinking of them. Calvin offers a text-messaging service for students/community members to send a text-message to Campus Safety in situations where it may be difficult or dangerous to make a call. The address is email@example.com. The system is monitored 24 hours a day and Campus Safety will respond to any requests for assistance. Students are also encouraged to program the contact numbers for Campus Safety dispatch into their phone. The 24 hour non-emergency phone number is 616-526-6452. The 24-hour emergency phone number is 616-526-3333 or 3-3333 for campus phones. Students can anonymously report a crime to Campus Safety through Silent Observer.
Also, remember that all vehicles brought to campus must be registered with Campus Safety. You can receive a $25 early registration discount if you register before September 3rd!

Textbook reservation for fall 2013 are now open! Students can view their book list and place their reservation through the store.calvin.edu by logging into Portal under the textbooks tab. Book orders are picked, packed, charged to Student Misc. Accounts and delivered to dorm desks (for on-campus students) or held for pickup at the store (for off-campus students). Students can also stop in the store for personal help finding their books! E-mail the campus store (firstname.lastname@example.org) with any questions.
