Praying with Calvin

The 2012-2013 academic year is well underway. We need and ask for your prayers for the Calvin community during this year. Would you please join us? Here are prayers you might offer.

Next treat

Parents may send their student some "love" by having the parent relations team deliver a Student Treats to them during the school year. There are birthday, exam, holiday and special event treats to send for on- or off-campus students.

The next treat deadline, November 27—which falls right after Thanksgiving break, is for the Winter Exam treat ($20); delivery is December 5. This travel tote (new!) is a great gift for students heading home for the holidays or away for interim. The winter exam treat includes a variety of snacks to get your student through "crunch time."

Order online now. You may also call Jen at (616) 526-6142, e-mail parents@calvin.edu or fax to (616) 526-7069. Thank you!

Calendar on its way

Every year about 4,000 young people come to Calvin, either for the first time or as returning students, to wonder, learn and grow. There are opportunities for each student to experience God's goodness through off-campus programs, chemistry experiments, athletic teams and worship services. This year, the Calvin College 2013 calendar celebrates the wonder and blessing of living and learning at Calvin. Watch the mail for your calendar being sent to parents and grandparents of current students.

Contact development@calvin.edu if you have questions.

Flu clinic

Health services will be offering its final flu clinic in the Spoelhof Fieldhouse Lobby on Thursday, November 15 (9 a.m. –1 p.m.). The clinic is open to all students, faculty, staff, emeriti and family members (ages 16 and over).  A flu shot is $25, FluMist (a nasal vaccination) is $30, payable by cash or check. Students may also put the charge on their miscellaneous accounts.

Please strongly encourage your student to take advantage of this convenient clinic to protect themselves from the flu. Also, if your student is planning to travel abroad over Interim or spring semester, a flu shot is required for their trip.
