Calvin’s bid for a trip to the national quarterfinals came up just short as the men's basketball team suffered a heart-breaking 63-62 defeat at top-ranked St. Thomas University. Senior Bryan Powell pumped in a career-high 31 points. Keep reading this story here.

The awards for senior Carissa Verkaik keep coming in. Carissa was recently named D3hoops.com National Player of the Year. She also was named the recipient of the prestigious Jostens Trophy, the second Calvin player to receive it. Calvin is the first school to have two Jostens Trophy recipients in women’s basketball.
