In March Madness, the men's basketball team advanced in the NCAA tournament and will play in Wisconsin on Saturday, March 9. Please cheer them on if you can! And while the women's team suffered a devastating loss, they were able to enjoy the long ride home, posting this video on their Facebook page with their rendition of Calvin's alma mater.
Senior Samantha Klaasen captured the regional one-meter diving title with a pool record score of 496.60 points to earn an automatic qualifying spot to the NCAA III Championships March 20-23 in Shenandoah, Texas. Klaasen will be eligible to compete on both the one- and three-meter boards; she finished second on the three-meter board! Congratulations!

This Square Inch
President Le Roy regularly shares news and stories about the college in his "This Square Inch" e-mail newsletter. In the latest issue, he invites the Calvin community to pray for off-campus program students, suggests ways to support Calvin's admissions efforts and discusses how the college is responding to financial challenges.
Along with leading a prioritization process to realign Calvin’s resources to fit its mission, President Le Roy is also leading a strategic planning process. Student Senate is launching #WeAreCalvin, inviting students to use photos to share meaningful parts of their Calvin experience. In addition, students are giving their feedback in Calvin's prioritization and strategic planning processes; Parent Council members also recently participated to share parent perspectives with college leadership.
Spring break begins on March 15 at 5 p.m. Classes resume on March 25 at 8 a.m. Here are some of the travels planned for students:
- The Women's Chorale will be on tour in California from March 15—22.
- Several sports teams will be traveling south (more details available soon).
- Many students will be part of a long tradition of work trips sponsored by the Service-Learning Center.

Events around the country
All alumni and friends (and families, etc.) are invited to events held around the country that are planned by regional alumni networks. Some of the next events planned are in Chicago, San Francisco and Seattle. President Le Roy will be speaking to alumni, parents and friends at a luncheon in Chicago on March 13.
