Parents may send their student some "love" by having the parent relations team deliver a Student Treat to them during the school year. There are birthday, exam, holiday and special event treats to send for on- or off-campus students.
The next treat deadline on February 7 is for the Valentine Treat ($20) which will be delivered on February 14. This treat features a handmade gourmet Rice Krispie treat covered in caramel and milk chocolate (with or without nuts), a $5 gift certificate to Johnny's and fun snacks (including a few "kisses"), delivered to your student on Valentine's Day.

In early January, initial Commencement information was mailed to parents of all students who had applied for their degree and to walk in the May 2013 Commencement ceremony. This information is all available on the Commencement site, which will continue to be updated throughout the spring. Students who still need to apply for a degree must do so through their portal account.

* The Teacher Commissioning Service on May 17 will begin at 7:30 p.m.
* The international graduate dinner (for the graduates, families and friends) has been moved to May 16 (5 p.m.) in Knollcrest Dining Hall. See the full schedule here.

The Calvin Symposium on Worship is drawing nigh. The dates are January 24–26. Each day begins and ends with worship, and we invite the entire Calvin community to join us if you are able. All of the services are based on the Sermon on the Mount.
January 24, 8:30–9:45 a.m.: "Salt and
ight," Greg Thompson preaching - Chapel; "Beatitudes," Marva Dawn preaching - Covenant Fine Arts Center (CFAC).`
Both services will be repeated at night in the same locations, 7:30 p.m.
January 25, 8:30–9:30 a.m.: "Forgiveness," Carolyn Gordon preaching - Chapel; "Not to Worry," Luke Powery preaching - CFAC.
Both services will be repeated on Saturday morning in the same locations, 8:30 a.m.
January 25, 7:30–8:45 p.m.: "The Lord’s Prayer" with meditations by Kenneth Bailey - CFAC.
January 26, 3:45–5 p.m.: "The Giving of Good Gifts," Scott Hoezee preaching; closing communion service - CFAC.

Carissa Verkaik was named the MIAA basketball player of the week and became the first 2,000 point scorer in Calvin women's basketball history!
