Carissa Verkaik goes up for a point

Junior Carissa Verkaik has been named a DIII All-American by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association and has been named one of two finalists for the WBCA Division III Player of the Year Award.

Senior T.J. Fenske wrote about his hometown of Dexter, Mich., which has since been hit by a tornado, obliterating many of the landmarks he described in his journalism essay.

Emeritus English professor Henrietta Ten Harmsel died on Friday, March 16, at 90 years of age. She taught English at Calvin for 27 years and was the first woman to serve as that department's chair.

Psychology professor Blake Riek studies the motivators behind asking for forgiveness. And environmental studies professor James Skillen is no stranger to syrup.

Calvin students led the way in the 2012 Gift of Life Campus Challenge—the largest college-based organ donor drive in the nation. Calvin signed up the most people as a proportion of its student population (5.09%). Calvin’s nursing students spearheaded this year’s campaign, bringing Calvin’s eight-year total to 1,084 donor registrations.
