Calvin-Parents E-Newsletter: April 26, 2011

The school year is coming to a close...

Academic Advising is today and tomorrow, April 26 and 27, and there are no classes so professors are available to meet with their advisees. Students must meet with their assigned advisor in order to be cleared for registration. Here's more information about academic advising services.

Calvin provides many forms of academic help. Pass along these resources to aid your students in studying, test-taking strategies, etc.

Students can stop by the career development office (616-526-6485) to set up an appointment for career advice.  Parents, if you need to fill job openings at your workplace, you should contact them, too.  Employers appreciate our graduates' analytical abilities, communication skills, work ethic and values.  Find out more.

Native Plant Sale

Our greenhouses are overflowing with native plants that need a good home. On Saturday, May 7, 2011, the Ecosystem Preserve will be selling these plants at the Native Plant Sale at the Bunker Interpretive Center from 10 a.m. until noon. A list of the plants available for sale will be on the Ecosystem Preserve's website a week before the event. We sell plants suited for a variety of light and soil preferences and, once again, will have small native shrubs for sale. Please tell your family, friends, and neighbors about the sale.  And while you are there, take a walk in the preserve.

All proceeds from the sale benefit the Wetlands and Woodlands Summer Camp program.
