Students, news and stories
Four Calvin ROTC members won the The German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency at a recent competition.
Along with 500 servicemen and women from the Army ROTC 7th Brigade, Calvin’s cadets faced a series of challenges designed to test both the athletic and mental dimensions of their training. The prize? The German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency, one of the rare medals awarded by a foreign organization that is worn on U.S. Army uniforms. Read more.

A note about advising
The next Academic Advising is Tuesday and Wednesday, April 26 and 27, 2011. There are no classes those days so that professors are available to meet with their advisees. Students are instructed to meet with their advisor during this time (per faculty schedule) and prepare for registration. In fact, students must meet with their assigned advisor in order to be cleared for registration.
Please do all you can to encourage your sons and daughters to take full advantage of academic advising. In addition to meeting with an advisor, academic advising days are a good time to get caught up on reading assignments and paper writing. It should not be a time to leave campus for a long weekend getaway. Here's more information about academic advising services.

Honors Convocation - April 20, 2011
We would like to congratulate all the students who will be graduating with honors from Calvin College this spring! The Honors Convocation will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at 7:30 p.m., in the Covenant Fine Arts Center Auditorium.
Honors Convocation is a chance for the college community to recognize the academic success of our students. Students who made the Dean's List in either the spring or fall semester of 2010, and students who will graduate with honors in May 2011, will be invited. The Dean's List students are recognized by class. Seniors who have been on the Dean's list every semester they have been at Calvin receive a certificate, and the Honors graduates receive medallions.
Families and friends of the invited students are encouraged to attend and stay for a reception in the Commons following the Convocation. For family and friends that can't travel to campus for this ceremony, the convocation will be broadcast via the Web that evening (that link will be available closer to the date).
See the Honors Convocation page or contact Jana Stob for more information.
