Before you arrive
There are several steps that you need to complete before you arrive:
- Register yourself and your family members (see "Registration" tab above)
- Pay your enrollment deposit, if you haven't already
- Be sure you have received a confirmation email in your Calvin email account from the Student Development Office by mid-January.
- Print out driving directions and a campus map (see our Information & Resources page)
Moving in
If you are planning to live in the residence halls or Knollcrest East apartments, Interim students may move in January 2 between 11:00am and 2:00pm. Spring students may move in Thursday, January 24, between 2:00pm and 5:00pm
Checking-In
Upon arrival follow the road signs to the Covenant Fine Arts Center parking lot. Make your way to the Commons Annex Building where you'll:
- check-in
- obtain a resource packet
- receive a personalized schedule
Meals
All meals starting with lunch on Thursday through dinner on Saturday are provided.
Dates
Your Transitions program will be two parts. For Interim students, part I is January 2 from 3:15pm - 7:00pm with optional activites from 9:00pm-11:00pm. For Spring students, part I is January 24 from 10:30am-2:00pm. Part II for Interim and Spring is 2:00pm-5:00pm Thursday, January 24 through Saturday, January 26, 2013. This will include meeting with an advisor to confirm our schedule, our local StreetFest experience, as well as an overnight retreat off campus.
Moving in
If you are planning to live in the residence halls or Knollcrest East apartments, Interim students may move in on Wednesday, January 2, between 11:00am-2:00pm or Thursday, January 24, between 2:00pm – 5:00pm

Orientation Costs
There is a charge for attending Transitions. The student registration fee is $250. Up to two adult family members may attend parent programming for free. The orientation fee will be added to your student account by the Financial Services Office in February. Please note that, assuming you attend both parts of the program, including StreetFest and the off-campus retreat, your account will be credited $100!
