I have worked at Calvin since 1997 and currently am full professor in the Health, Physical Education, Recreation, Dance, and Sports (HPERDS) Department, while also serving as the Director of Off Campus Programs at Calvin. I have taught a variety of classes in experiential education, recreation, and youth development. Some former experiences include being a U.S. Peace Corp volunteer in the Philippines and living overseas in both Korea and Hong Kong. I love the Northern Michigan Cycling trip as it is one of the most beautiful rides in the United States. Riding along the lake, hanging out with students, eating fresh fruit from local orchards, and seeing all that Northern Michigan has to offer make this trip a real favorite.

I'm a graduate of Calvin, and currently work as staff person here. Leading the cycling trip is a great place to share my love of cycling and the outdoors. It is great to hang out with students outdoors, help them connect with other students, and help prepare students for their time at Calvin. It doesn't hurt that this trip covers the best road cycling that Michigan has to offer!

I am an Exercise Science major and Recreation minor. I played for Calvin's tennis team for two years and then became the RA on the Outdoor Recreation/Creation care floor this year. I enjoy basically anything outside: running, climbing, biking, frisbee tossing, kayaking, backpacking etc. In the winter months, I really enjoy reading a book with a warm up of tea by a fire place. I am from Harbor Springs, MI and I am really looking forward to leading the bike trip this summer.
