If you’re an international student (either first-year or transfer student) these are the steps you should take to ensure that you receive the maximum amount of financial aid.

STEP 1

Apply for admission

Target date: January 2

You will automatically be considered for academic scholarships upon admission.

STEP 2

Search for additional scholarships

Due date: February 1

You must already be admitted to Calvin to be considered for these scholarships.

STEP 3

Submit financial aid forms

Due date: April 1

  • Complete ONE of the following:
    1. The international student application for financial aid online (or PDF)
      - or -
    2. The international student full pay agreement online (or PDF)
  • Provide supporting financial documentation (income and bank statements) via fax (616-526-6883) or e-mail.

STEP 4

Complete the financial review process

Target date: Ongoing

  • Your immigration documents (I-20 form) will not be issued until we've determined your financial ability to cover costs.
  • Financial aid forms and supporting documents will be reviewed by the international financial aid committee to determine eligibility for financial aid programs. (Questions? Speak with our international admission staff.)

STEP 5

Receive your financial aid package

Target date: Ongoing
