Charis Bio - Erland Sibuea

Erland Sibuea is the secretary of the Bali Christian Art Association (BCAA) which he co-founded with his wife, Ni Ketut Ayu Sri Wardani, a prominent Balinese artist and other senior Balinese Christian artists. He is a pioneer in Christian art ministry as well as the leader of The Navigators organization in Bali. In 2006 he organized a national exhibition for Christian art in the National Gallery of Indonesia, Jakarta. His book titled Sketsa Bandung: 200 tahun Bandung (Sketches of Bandung: 200 years of Bandung City) was published in 2009. He finished his formal study in industrial engineering at Bandung Institute of Technology in 1993. A self-taught artist, Sibuea was assisted by other Balinese artists in developing his understanding of traditional Balinese painting. Originally from Sumatra, since 2000 he has lived in Bali with his wife and two daughters.

CHARIS at the International Forum for Christian Higher Education on Critical Breakthrough
in Atlanta, Georgia

This conference of 1200 leaders in Christian Higher Education includes a session with CHARIS artists, a media presentation of the exhibit and onsite presentation of a portion of the artwork followed by a lunch reception at Columbia Theological Seminary in nearby Decatur to view the rest of the CHARIS exhibit.
