
David JP Hooker was born and raised in North Carolina. He received a B.A. in english from Furman University and an M.F.A. in ceramics from Kent State University. His work can be found in numerous public and private collections, including South Carolina State Museum, and has been exhibited in numerous colleges and universities in the United States, including SUNY College at Oneonta, Virginia Tech, and Clemson University. Internationally, David has exhibited in Switzerland and was a finalist in the 8th International Ceramics Competition in Mino, Japan. He is an associate professor of art at Wheaton College in Illinois.
