Music Events Manager, Music
Heather Rodgers joined the Calvin College community as the Music Events Manager and Publicist for the music department in May 2009. She plans, publicizes and coordinates more than 60 concerts and events annually in addition to spearheading the department’s scholarship fundraising program and recruitment efforts.
Heather graduated from Central Michigan University with a bachelor of arts with a major in business and music and minors in marketing and horn performance. Shortly after completing her degree program at Central Michigan University, Heather attended The Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University.
Prior to joining the Calvin College community, Heather served as the Director of the Annual Fund for the Grand Rapids Symphony, 2002-2006. Her chief responsibilities included a $2 million annual fund campaign and major special event projects including the Symphony’s 75th Anniversary Carnegie Hall Debut. In 2007, Heather took the position of Director of Development for the Grand Rapids Ballet Company, Michigan’s only professional ballet company, where she focused on annual giving, donor relations, special events fundraisers and educational outreach.
Heather and her husband, Benjamin, are active in the arts community. Benjamin is the Choral Director for Grand Haven High School and is active in the MSVMA. The couple resides in Holland, Michigan.
