Might You Be A Composer?

A workshop for high school students

curious about pursuing composition as a serious hobby or vocation.

This event has been cancelled for 2012-13.

"A lot of people say that they have music running around inside their heads, even when their iPods are on the blink and they aren't within earshot of a stereo system. Does this sort of thing ever happen to you? Now here’s the really big question: Are any of those tunes ones that you make up? If so, might you be a composer?

If you are curious to find out more about what it means to be write music – what sort of things you need to learn, what sorts of gifts you need to already have, and what sorts of opportunities there are for composers – why not come explore such things at a workshop at Calvin College?"
