Traditions, Alternatives, and What They Mean for Marriage This presentation was held at Calvin College in March 2008 as part of Women's History Month. It was sponsored by the Gender Studies Minor. This panel of Calvin students, alumni, and faculty discussed Christian discernnment in the planning of wedding ceremonies, including the problematic history of many wedding traditions and ways to represent healthier gender roles in the way we tie the knot.
