Wind Turbine Project Studies Renewable Energy

During the 2006-2007 school year, a group of Calvin engineering students took on a project that would see the college's first renewable energy source—a wind turbine—installed on campus. Sponsored in part by a grant from the state of Michigan, the project drew Governor Jennifer Granholm to campus in March. The wind turbine serves as an educational tool for students to learn more about renewable energy while also preparing for future installation of a larger wind turbine on Calvin's campus.
