Investigating cells
Investigating cells

Whether they are cloning cells or analyzing quantum chemical results, Calvin students are unlocking and experiencing the wonder of God’s intricate creation.

The Ecosystem Preserve
Relaxing in the peace and quiet of the preserve.

Calvin’s Ecosystem Preserve and Bunker Interpretive Center serves as a research tool for classes ranging from Art to Zoology — and provides a valuable recreational get aways.

Engineering Projects
Engineering teams select, design, and build their own projects in order to solve real-world problems.

With state-of-the-art facilities and the opportunity to research beside their professors, Calvin students are able to combine classroom work with scholarly research.

Field testing a new proto-type
Students pull their prototype grader back to the Engineering Building after field testing.

It isn't unusual to see research teams outside the classroom testing projects. Hands-on research and experiments generate new discoveries.

Small class sizes
Class sizes are small and dynamic.

The bonds made working in small groups can last a lifetime. Calvin has a student/faculty ratio of 13:1 and an average class size of 23.

"What is water pressure?"

Teaching is a passion and priority at Calvin. Undergraduates get scholarship and research experiences equivalent to those available at large universities.

Students and professors work side-by-side in research
Students and professors work side-by-side in research.

In the science division you'll see professors mentoring students, e-mailing peer collaborators from around the world, and writing professional journal articles together.
