The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code)
governs the making of reproductions of copyrighted material.
Any individual who makes a photocopy, digital copy, or other reproduction
for purposes in excess of "fair use," may be liable for copyright
infringement. "Fair use" provides that the reproduction is not
to be used for any purpose other than classroom teaching, private study,
scholarship, or research.
Due to copyright restrictions some resources are available only to current
Calvin faculty, students, and staff (via a KnightVision login and password).
The Hekman Library is offering secured and public access to the HDA collections
as a contribution to education and scholarship. More information about
U.S. Copyright is provided by the Copyright Office. Additionally, the
reproduction of some materials may be restricted by terms of the Copyright
holder. Please contact the appropriate Copyright holder for permissions.
The Hekman Library generally does not own rights to material in its collections.
Therefore, we do not charge permission fees for use of such material and
cannot give or deny permission to publish or otherwise distribute material
in our collections. It is the patron's obligation to determine and satisfy
copyright or other use restrictions when publishing or otherwise distributing
materials found in the HDA collections.
The Hekman Library is eager to hear from any copyright owners of the
the HDA material available in the publically accessible collections who
are not properly identified so that appropriate information may be provided
in the future.
The materials on the HDA have been made available for use in research,
teaching, and private study. For these purposes, you may reproduce (print,
make photocopies, or download) materials from this website without prior
permission, on the condition that you provide proper attribution of the
source in all copies.
