GPO Access is a service of the U.S. Government Printing Office that provides free electronic access to a wealth of important information products produced by the Federal Government. The information provided on this site is the official, published version and the information retrieved from GPO Access can be used without restriction, unless specifically noted. The Hekman Library is a selective depository library serving Michigan's third congressional district in the Federal Depository Library Program, and as such provides access either in a tangible format (paper, microfiche, CD-ROM) or electronic format to the basic documents recommended for depositories as well as to thousands of other government documents and information products.

Legislative Branch

U.S. House of Representatives General information about the House, its membership, organization and operation. The Legislative Process section includes texts and status of bills, voting records, and reports. Provides visitor and educational information as well as links to other online sources of information.

United States Senate General information about the Senate, its committees and the legislative process. Includes tour information and a Senate directory.

United States Congressional Directory Biographical information about members of the House and Senate, including committee appointments. Also includes maps of congressional districts.

U.S. Congressional Bibliographies Bibliographies of House and Senate hearings, prints, and publications back to the early 1980s, maintained by North Carolina State University.

Congressional Budget Office Provides Congress with economic and budgetary information.

Government Accountability Office Contains decisions of the Comptroller General, Reports and Testimony, and recently released reports evaluating government programs and activities.

Government Printing Office The official printer and distributor of publications for Congress and other governmental agencies is increasingly accomplishing this function electronically. Includes access to publications of the Congress, Office of Management and Budget, State Department, Superintendent of Documents and many others.

Library of Congress Browse historical collections in the National Digital Library (American Memory), learn about copyright, search the library's online catalog, and much more. The THOMAS database of legislative information includes text for bills, the Congressional Record, the text of the Constitution, and additional internet links.
