KV Help Image Graduating Seniors

Graduating seniors will be assigned "graduate" status for KnightVision from June 1 until October 1. [Students who graduate in August, December and January also receive "graduate" status from the time they leave Calvin until the following October 1.] This is what allows CIT to maintain your Calvin email account and your access to grades/transcripts for a few months after graduation. Because KnightVision is personalized for each user based on primary user status, graduating seniors will not be able to have full "alumni" status and access to the alumni version of KnightVision until after October 1. However, early registration will allow you to add some alumni features to your graduate account.

Follow these instructions to request access to alumni features:

1. Fill out the Graduating Seniors KnightVision Registration Form.

2. You will received a confirmation e-mail that your registration has been processed. (Those who register before graduation will not receive this confirmation e-mail until the first week of June.)

3. Once your registration is processed, grads will be able to access the alumni directory and their alumni e-mail forwarding account by following the instructions below.

4. Your username and password will remain the same even after October 1. After that date, when you login to KnightVision you will have full alumni access. Student features such as access to grades/transcripts will no longer be available.

Graduating seniors who do not register for alumni KnightVision access by October 1 will have their KnightVision accounts closed and will need to follow the regular alumni registration process to request that their account be activated again.


Accessing Alumni Features

Alumni Directory
1. From the My Calvin or My Resources tab, choose the "Contents" button in the upper right corner.
2. From the list of modules, select "Resources: Alumni Directory" and submit.

Privacy Settings
Privacy settings allow you to control which information about yourself is available to fellow alumni. Use the Alumni Directory module to search for your own record. Then use the navigation links in the left column to set your privacy preferences.

Lifetime Email Forwarding
Lifetime email forwarding addresses (username@alumni.calvin.edu) give you a permanent email address which will still be available even if you leave Calvin. All mail sent to your alumni email address will be forwarded to your personal email account. Use the Alumni Directory module to search for your own record and then use the navigation links in the left column to set your email forwarding account.

Alumni Discussion Boards
The Alumni Association Members organization contains discussion boards and other information for alumni. A link to this organization will appear in the "My Organizations" module on your "My Calvin" tab.
