What is lifetime email? Lifetime email is an email FORWARDING service. Your Calvin lifetime email account will forward all email to your personal email account. Lifetime email is NOT an email account; it does not store messages for you to read and reply to. Lifetime email gives you a permanent email address. Since this email will never change, you can give out one email address to everyone. If you move to a new employer or change internet service providers (ISP) at your home, just come back here and change your email once with us. Email sent to your lifetime Calvin email address will then be automatically forwarded to your new email account. Your email forwarding account will be active as long as you
have an active KnightVision acount. If your KnightVision account is inactive
for more than two years, then KnightVision account and email forwarding
address will be inactivated.
Your official lifetime email address will be in this format:
username@alumni.calvin.edu. In addition, you may choose one email alias. An email alias allows you to customize a name for your email
forwarding address. Messages sent to your alias lifetime email account
will also be forwarded to your personal email account. You may change
that alias at any time but if you change your alias you will be giving
up the alias that you previously set. Setting an email alias does
not change your username. Please register
for KnightVision to receive your username. Within KnightVision, choose
the "Set Email Forwarding" option in the toolbox to set up
your account. No,
you will continue to send email from your personal email account. Any
email you send will display your current email address. However,
many email programs allow you to display a different return address on
your messages than the actual sending address. If you set your return
address to your Calvin email address, then when someone hits "reply" to
your message, their response will be sent to you via your email forwarding
account. This is one way to maintain a single email identity for all
your
communications. No. You must choose one address for all your forwarded mail. Does Calvin screen messages sent to email forwading accounts? Calvin does not filter
any email that is sent to forwarding accounts; all email is simply forwarded
to your regular account. No one at Calvin will see e-mails sent to you,
and the messages will not be stored in our files. Calvin does not filter
out junk messages and cannot be responsible for the content of messages
that are forwarded. Messages which contain attachments (no larger than
100 MB) are able to be sent to e-mail forwarding accounts. Please
use the "Set Email Forwarding" option within
KnightVision to make this update. |
