David Smith

On September 16, 2004, the Kuyers Institute was publicly launched through a public reception at the Prince Conference Center at Calvin College. With Milton and Carol Kuyers in attendance, institute director David I. Smith delivered the inaugural lecture, titled "What is Excellent Teaching? The Question of Faith and Pedagogy." His lecture, which will soon be available here, explored the relationship between faith and teaching processes in order to show why an institute for Christian teaching and learning is needed. He also outlined the activities of the institute over the coming year.
