E-books are electronic books that can be read on handheld or desktop computers using the appropriate reading software. They are small in size, easy to download, fully searchable, and do not carry the same high distribution costs as print volumes. Many of the e-books on these pages are in Palm (.pdb) format and require special (but free) reader software.

Comenius
John Amos Comenius (1592-1670) has been referred to as the father of modern education. His writings on educational matters had a significant impact on Western educational practice, and his textbooks were used in many parts of the world for two centuries after his death. He was also a theologian and bishop in the Moravian Brethren, and reflected deeply on the connections between faith and the teaching and learning process. His work continues to attract scholarly attention and still has the potential to speak to questions of faith and learning.
