CSC

Christian Resources for the Spanish Classroom (CSC) is a site housed at Calvin College and linked to the North American Christian Foreign Language Association (NACFLA). Its goal is to post quality resource materials on the web that can be freely used and reproduced in order to present a Christian perspective in the Spanish secondary and college classroom.

These teaching units, which can be accessed here, were written initially by students enrolled in a foreign-language pedagogy course at Calvin College during the 2004–05 school year. The Kuyers Institute provided a grant for Marilyn Bierling, Professor of Spanish, and Emily Brondsema, a Spanish major at Calvin, to edit and make these units available online.

The units are intended for use in first- and second-year college Spanish courses and cover the following themes:

• family relationships and immigration
• human rights and Sor Juana
• the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela
• the life and legacy of Archbishop Oscar Romero
• life in a neighborhood
• attitudes toward immigrants
