For more than a century, the Fourth Dimension has fascinated mathematicians and scientists, as well as writers, artists and philosophers, ranging from Edwin Abbott's Flatland to the surrealism of Salvador Dali. Dr. Banchoff is a pioneer in the geometry of the Fourth and higher dimensions. If you don't know what the Fourth Dimension is, come to this lecture to find out. You will "see" phenomena in the Fourth Dimension through computer graphics and animation and how, through internet technology, people can interact with these images. This presentation is enhanced with slides, videotape and the internet. Dr. Banchoff is Professor of Mathematics at Brown University and President of the American Mathematical Association.
