Telecommunications Technicians

 

TELECOMMUNICATIONS TECHNICIAN I

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•  Diagnose and repair phone problems

•  Work with AT&T 110 and 66 blocks

•  Order Telco supplies

•  Respond to HelpDesk telecom requests

•  Responsible for new installs

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

•  Quick problem diagnosis and resolution

•  Excellent people skills

•  Ability to work with minimal supervision

•  Good communication skills

 

TELECOMMUNICATIONS TECHNICIAN II

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•  Operate and maintain the phone switch

•  Perform backups

•  Make minor repairs

•  Respond to HelpDesk telecom requests

•  Responsible for new installs and maintenance

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

•  Includes Level I skills

•  Quick problem diagnosis and resolution

•  Excellent people skills

•  Ability to work with minimal supervision

•  Good communication skills

 

TELECOMMUNICATIONS TECHNICIAN III

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

•  Knowledge and ability to work with data communication

•  Ability to work with FDDI, Thicknet , Thinnet , and Twisted Pair cabling

•  Understanding of Cisco routers and Cabletron MMAC hubs

•  Respond to HelpDesk telecom requests

•  Responsible for new installs and maintenance

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

•  Includes Levels I and II skills

•  Quick problem diagnosis and resolution

•  Excellent people skills

•  Ability to work with minimal supervision

•  Good communication skills
