Technology Integration Services-Technology Integration Student Assistant

 

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Assists the departmental Technology Integration Services team in installation and support of new campus desktop hardware and software systems.

 

REPORTS TO:

TIS Project Managers

TIS Team Leader

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

•  Install and test software on individual PCs and Macs

•  Stage/prepare hardware for installation

•  Install networked hardware at customer's on-campus site

•  Support customers during initial phase of hardware and software use

•  Remove used equipment from users' sites

•  Assist with inventory tracking

•  Assist in management of lab administration software

•  Develop technical skills in use of desktop and lab systems

•  Regularly communicate with users on status of projects

•  Other duties as assigned

 

WAGES:

Student wage rate level D ($6.10-$7.60)

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

•  Aptitude and knowledge of desktop computer systems, including Windows, Macintosh, and printers.

•  Experience installing PC and Macintosh hardware and software in Novell network environment

•  Excellent interpersonal skills

•  Ability to focus on work at hand under pressure

•  Ability to meet deadlines

•  Ability to adapt and support new technologies as they arise

•  Analytical and problem solving skills

•  Teacher attributes, including patience and enthusiasm

•  Ability to follow procedures and policies

•  Teamwork skills

•  Ability to lift 80+ pounds

•  Project management experience desireable
