Mac Office 2008

This summer (2008) CIT is updating all Mac computers to Microsoft Office to version 2008. This version contains many feature enhancements along with a completely remodeled look and feel making Office products easier to use. It also saves documents in the XML format so it can share documents with Windows Office 2007.

Known issues

  • Double-clicking an email attachment won't open the file. Mactopia has information on how to fix the problem.

  • Mac Office 2008 is not compatible with any version of EndNote. Please be aware of this before you install Office 2008.

EndNote reports that they are working on making EndNote versions X1 and later compatible with Office 2008, but they have not done so yet. If they do come out with a compatible version CIT will need to upgrade the Macintosh EndNote users to the latest version.
