Core Services: Telephone Services
CIT provides telecommunication services for Calvin's campus. If you are having problems with your Calvin-owned telephone the telelphone jack in your room, or need to request a change to your telephone send e-mail to helpdesk@calvin.edu or call the HelpDesk at x6-8555. Please indicate the
nature of your problem, and give your name, telephone number, building
name, and room number.

Telephones in faculty and staff offices
When you start at Calvin you will be issued a Calvin phone number and an Audix account for voice-mail. If you don't receive this information in your green CIT Account packet, please contact the CIT HelpDesk at x6-8555 or e-mail helpdesk@calvin.edu. It is important that we know what phone number you are using. This number will usually follow you when you move offices.
Budget officers can
approve the purchase and use of cell phones for Calvin employees for business use.
If you are moving offices PLEASE
DO NOT MOVE YOUR TELEPHONE. Please read Your
CIT accounts when you move offices before you physically
move your office.
Telephones in residence halls and apartments
Each room and apartment is equipped with one analog phone
and multiple phone jacks to which students may connect one answering machine and portable
phone. Call-wating is on all residential
phones. Local calling is provided at no charge. A calling card
is necessary to place long distance calls from any campus telephone. Calling cards may be purchased at the Campus Store.
Telephone services to the room will be suspended and disciplinary action will be taken for tampering with or altering present equipment. All equipment must remain in the room. Charges will be incurred for broken or missing equipment.
