Connecting your mobile device to CalvinStudents
- Open your device’s Settings and go to the Wireless Network Settings
- Connect to CalvinStudents
- If asked to configure settings, make sure you set the settings as follows:
- Security: 802.1x EAP or WPA2 Enterprise
- EAP method: PEAP
- Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
- CA or security certificate: GlobalSign Root CA
- Username or Identity: your Calvin username
- Password: your Calvin passphrase
Setting up mobile device to send/receive StudentMail
- Make sure you have enabled IMAP in the Mail Settings of your StudentMail account
- Settings > Mail Settings > Forwarding and POP/IMAP > IMAP Access > Enable IMAP
- On your phone, open the Email application and add a new Gmail or Email account
- Enter your full StudentMail email address and Calvin passphrase
- Make sure that you set up the account to be an IMAP account
- The Incoming mail server settings should be configured as follows:
- Username: full StudentMail email address (username@students.calvin.edu)
- IMAP server: imap.gmail.com
- Port: 993
- Security: SSL (always authenticate)
- The Outgoing mail server settings should be configured as follows:
- Username: full StudentMail email address (username@students.calvin.edu)
- SMTP server: smtp.gmail.com
- Port: 465
- Security: SSL (always authenticate)

- Open your device’s Settings and go to the Wireless Network Settings
- Connect to CalvinWireless
- If asked to configure settings, make sure you set the settings as follows (if applicable):
- Security: 802.1x EAP or WPA2 Enterprise
- EAP method: PEAP
- Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
- CA or security certificate: GlobalSign Root CA
- Username or Identity: your Calvin username
- Password: your Calvin passphrase
