Connecting your mobile device to eduroam

  • Open your device’s Settings and locate the Wireless Network Settings
  • Connect to eduroam from the list of available networks
  • If asked to configure settings, set them as follows:
    • Security: 802.1x EAP or WPA2 Enterprise
    • EAP method: PEAP
    • Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
    • CA or security certificate: GlobalSign Root CA
    • Username or Identity: your full Calvin email address
    • Password: your Calvin passphrase

Setting up Calvin Office 365 email on your iOS device

Set up email in Outlook for iOS

  1. Open Outlook for iOS
  2. Tap Settings > Add Account > Add Email Account
  3. On the Add Email Account page, enter your u@Calvin, then tap Add Account
  4. Enter your Calvin passphrase and sign in to verify your email address. Outlook may request access to some of your email features. If prompted, agree to these permissions.
  5. If you're prompted to enter additional server settings, see POP and IMAP settings for Outlook Office 365 for business.

Once you are signed in, follow any prompts and begin using your Outlook for iOS app. In many cases, your email account should be configured for you automatically. You may also be prompted to agree to allow Microsoft Outlook to access contacts, calendar, and other info.

NOTE: If you get a time-out message, your passphrase or other information might be incorrect. Make sure Caps Lock is disabled, retype the information, and then try again. See Microsoft's troubleshooting tips for additional help.

Set up email in the iOS Mail app

  1. Go to Settings, scroll down to Mail, Contacts, Calendars, then tap Add Account
  2. Select Exchange
  3. Type in your u@Calvin, Calvin Passphrase, and a description (for example, Calvin). Once your credentials have been entered, tap Next
  4. If you're prompted to enter additional server settings, see POP and IMAP settings for Outlook Office 365 for business.
  5. Choose the apps you want your email account to sync with your iOS device and then tap Save. Your email account is now ready for use with the iOS Mail app.

NOTE: If you're prompted to create a passcode, tap Continue and type a numeric passcode. If you're prompted and don’t set up a passcode, you can’t view this account on your device. But you can set up a passcode later in your settings.

Setting up Calvin Office 365 email on your Android device

Set up email in Outlook for Android

  1. Open Outlook for Android
  2. Swipe through the introduction and enter your u@Calvin if prompted
  3. On the Choose account type page, select Office 365
  4. On the sign in page, add your email address again if prompted, then type your Calvin passphrase
  5. Select Yes to let the app access your information. Outlook for Android will start syncing your account.
  6. If you're prompted to enter additional server settings, see POP and IMAP settings for Outlook Office 365 for business.

Set up email using the built-in Android mail app

  1. Tap Settings > Accounts > Add account > Email
  2. Type your u@Calvin, your Calvin passphrase, then tap Next
  3. Select Exchange
  4. You may receive a message about additional security features or remote secuity administration. Select OK to continue.
  5. Once the device verifies the server settings, the Account Options page opens. Accept the defaults or select the options for how you want to receive and send your mail, and then tap Next. (You may need to scroll down to see Next.)
  6. n the Set up email page you can change the name of your account. When you're finished tap Done.

If you synced your calendar and contacts in step 5 you can go to those apps on your phone to view any items that might be there. If you synced tasks as well, you should see them in the calendar app on your device. It might take a few minutes for everything to sync.

NOTE: If your device can't connect make sure you typed your email address and passphrase correctly and try again. If you still can't connect try setting it up manually using the POP and IMAP settings for Outlook Office 365 for business.
