Student Print Accounting FAQ for Student Employee Supervisors

What is Student Print Accounting?
In an effort to be good stewards of Calvin's technology resources, CIT has implemented a semester printing quota for all Calvin students. Each student is given a $25 printing quota for the Fall and Spring semester. This is the equivalent of 500 black and white pages or any combination of charges. Each student will receive a $15 quota for the Summer semester and a $10 quota for Interim. See Printing Charges.

How do students install your departmental printer?
Student employees should go to iPrint Secure Printer Setup and select your departmental printer.

Will student employees be charged for department related printing?
Students working for campus departments will not be charged when printing to a departmental printer. They should be discouraged from sending their personal print jobs to your departmental printer. Even when using a department computer a student can send their personal printing to a public computing printer.

What happens to the funds collected from students who exceeded their quota?
The purpose of Student Print Accounting is to encourage stewardly use of printing resources. It is our hope that very few funds will be collected. Any funds collected from students exceeding their quota will be used for technology improvements across campus.
