Connecting a Laptop to the Media Manager Lectern
| How do I connect my laptop to the Media Manager Lectern? |
There are (up to) 3 cables involved with hooking up your laptop to the Media Manager Lectern (depending upon if you want audio or not):
- Network cable to connect to Calvin's internal network and to the Internet*
- VGA cable to display images/video from laptop**
- Audio cable (1/8" plug)***

* Regarding network connectivity:
The network connection is in the grommet on the surface of the Media Manager Lectern:

** Regarding video:
Normally you will want to set the Source to Computer 2. Then you will need to know which set of keys to cycle through in order to take the video signal from your laptop and send it to the projector. Here are some examples:
Apple: F7 |
Fujitsu: Fn+F10 |
NEC: Fn+F3 |
| HP: Fn + F4 |
Toshiba: Fn + F5 |
Sony: Fn + F7 |
| IBM: Fn + F7 |
Epson: Fn + F8 |
Dell: Fn+F8 |
If you have a Mac laptop that will not project, try restarting the laptop to reconnect to the projector source.
If the room you are presenting in has an A/B Box in it -- normally near the computer and has 2 choices such as Document Camera and Laptop -- be sure it is set to Laptop.
*** Regarding audio:
If the room you are presenting in has an amplifier (see below graphic), be sure that the amplifier is turned on and has the Master volume and the Laptop volume dials turned up sufficiently.
