E-mail: GroupWise Junk Mail Handling

If you have not been receiving e-mails that were sent to you, GroupWise Junk Mail Handling settings might be preventing these e-mails from getting through to you in two different ways.GroupWise logo

1. Block and Junk Lists

Accessible through:
  • Tools > Junk Mail Handling > Block List
  • Tools > Junk Mail Handling > Junk List

If the calvin.edu domain or domains such as gmail.com or hotmail.com is on either list, you may be prevented from receiving important e-mails from students or colleages. Look through these lists to ensure that they contain only domains and addresses that you wish to be blocked.

2. Junk List Settings

Select Tools > Junk Mail Handling > Junk List > Settings. You may be prevented from receiving important e-mails from addresses not in your personal address books if you see either of the following has been enabled:

  • Junk Mail using personal address books
  • Junk Calendaring using personal address books

Simply disable these options and you will be able to receive all messages sent to you.

For complete information on using the Junk Mail Handling feature, please see the Novell GroupWise Client user guide under Section 3.8.10, Handling Unwanted Mail.
