Summary: Symantec Antiirus is the the program used on Calvin-owned Windows computers to protect against computer viruses. Symantec AntiVirus is enabled automatically on your computer and receives the latest virus software definitions. Although Symantec always runs in the background providing ongoing security against computer viruses, CIT recommends that you periodically run a virus scan of your computer's hard drive.

Running a virus scan on a Windows computer

Symantec AntiVirus is enabled automatically on your computer. Although Symantec always runs in the background providing ongoing security against computer viruses, CIT recommends that you periodically run a virus scan of your computer's hard drive.To run a scan of your hard drive double-click the Symantec Endpoint icon in your system tray.

Symantec Antivirus

  1. On the left-hand side of the screen select Scan > Scan Computer.
  2. On the right-hand side of the screen check Local Disk (C:)
  3. Click the Scan button.

Note: You do not need to scan network drives with Symantec. CIT automatically does this for you.
