Desktop Services: Calvin's Personal Technology Purchase Programs

Several technology vendors offer discounts to Calvin employees and students on personal technology hardware and software purchases.

Apple Computer, Inc.

Calvin's partnership with Apple provides discounts for Calvin faculty, staff, and students from both their local Apple store and online. Select Apple software titles are available at an approximate discount of 10% at the retail store. Larger discounts may be available online and certain Apple software titles must be purchased through the Apple Store online to receive your education discount.

    Sun: 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Your Calvin ID and driver's license are both required to receive education discounts on qualifying Apple hardware and software.

CDW-G (Computer Discount Warehouse)

CDW-G has partnered with Calvin College to provide special pricing for Calvin faculty, staff, and students on computers, accessories and other office equipment through their online catalog.

If you have your CDW-G purchase delivered to Calvin, you'll receive free shipping.


Dell Education Purchase Program

Calvin is part of the Dell Education Purchase Program (EPP) that gives Calvin employees and students discounts for Dell purchases. Calvin's Member ID, US22430927, will be required whether placing your order online or over the phone.

For the best deal on a Dell PC, log in to Dell's EPP page for Calvin. You can also call a Dell Sales Representative at 877-377-0238 to place your order.


Cell Phone discounts

VERIZON

The Verizon discount is 18% for Calvin employees.

A valid Calvin e-mail address is required to make or update your Verizon account. Please enter 49546 for the billing zip code. If your account was automatically updated, you may recieve the message "No changes made."

Alltel customert must convert to a Verizon phone and rate plan to get a discount. Verizon is discontinuing Alltel phones and rate plans. As long as you have a working Alltel phone, you can stay on your Alltel rate plan, but you will not get the Calvin discount.

Calvin Seminary faculty, staff, and students must contact Matthew McCormick with proof of employment/enrollment.


SPRINT/NEXTEL

The Sprint/Nextel discount is 15%.

Microsoft

All support regarding the Home Use Program and Ultimate Steal are handled by Microsoft and not CIT. All questions and support issues need to be handled using their onsite FAQs or Customer Support.

Microsoft Home Use Program

Current Calvin faculty and staff are now eligible to participate in Microsoft's Software Assurance Home Use Program. This program enables you to get a licensed copy of most Microsoft Office desktop PC (Mac and Windows) applications to install and use on your home computer for your personal use.

Mathematica is a software package which is ideal for communicating scientific ideas, whether this is visualization of a concept in an intro-level course, or creating a simulation of a new idea related to research. What is On the Hub?
