Update on Novell log in and performance issues
Over the last few weeks Windows computer users have experienced problems logging in to Novell. These problems have been particularly acute in computer labs where students are frequently logging on and off the computers.
CIT is working with Novell to resolve this issue and we believe we have identified a main cause of the problem. On the recommendation of Novell we have patched our Novell servers and have made configuration adjustments. These changes are work arounds that seem to be providing noticeable improvement. CIT is monitoring this situation and will continue to work with Novell until all the problems are fully resolved.
We made changes to all computer labs to reduce login failures. These work-arounds will be carefully monitored until a permanent solution is provided by Novell.
Anyone still experiencing problems with the Windows login screen still displaying should contact the HelpDesk.
Please be assured that CIT recognizes the seriousness of this issue and we are doing everything we can to get it resolved.
