The CIT HelpDesk is trying to be more helpful!
Have you ever received a cryptic e-mail from heat@calvin.edu saying something like "ticket #00546785 for ckh29 was created" and wondered who heat was and why you received a ticket from him?
Heat is CIT's software for tracking HelpDesk work orders. Any time you contact the HelpDesk a work order is entered into Heat. You will receive a confirmation of the work order via e-mail from "Calvin IT Work Orders". In the e-mail subject it will give the ticket number and the name of the person, printer or classroom the work order is for. In the body of the e-mail will be a description of your question or request. We are working on making these descriptions more user friendly. If the information found in the confirmation e-mail is not correct, contact the HelpDesk with the accurate information. Please keep the work order ticket number so if you ever need to call the HelpDesk about your request you can give us your ticket number. That will help us locate your request quickly.
When the work order is closed you will receive another e-mail from Calvin IT Work Orders describing the request and what was done to resolve it. If the request was not completed satisfactorily please contact us as soon as possible.
Please do not "reply" to email from Calvin IT Word Orders. Instead if you ever have a question about a CIT work order please contact the HelpDesk at helpdesk@calvin.edu or call 526-8555.
