Nov. 6: A Windows GroupWise update
On Thursday, November 6, CIT will begin pushing a GroupWise update to all Windows computers. After running the update you' may be prompted to reboot your computer. This is a security patch so you won't see any change in the functionality of GroupWise. Do you use Notify? If so, you will need to reset Notify to run. Log in to GroupWise then select Tools, double-click on Environment then click on the General tab. On the check list on the right, click on the check box to turn on Launch Notify at startup. Click on OK.
For additional information, please see the CIT Maintenance Blog.
CIT's Maintenance web log
Reminder: We don't usually send out CIT alerts when we push updates to your computer. Instead, CIT maintains a maintenance web log for planned network/server changes and planned changes/updates to desktop software found at www/calvin.edu/go/it-maintenance. The maintenance blog is also available from the CIT home page. When maintenance is scheduled, this web log is updated with the information. Emergency maintenance notifications will continue to be sent out to the CIT Alert email listserv.
HelpDesk monthly survey winners
Thank you to everyone who participates in the monthly HelpDesk Surveys. We use these surveys to make sure we give you the best service possible. The current winners of a $10.00 Calvin Campus Store gift certificate are:
- August: Cindi Hoekstra, Education
- September: Michael Zaagman, Freshman
- October: Jodi Kuipers, Senior
How can you participate?
Each time you call, email, or leave the HelpDesk a voicemail, a work order is created using HEAT our call ticket tracking software. When the issue has been resolved, you receive an email saying your work order has been closed. In that email is a link to an online form that allows you to give feedback on the quality of service provided by the HelpDesk staff. The names of those who complete surveys are entered into a monthly drawing for a $10 gift certificate at the Calvin Campus Store.
