A reminder of the services available to you from CIT
Calvin Information Technology (CIT) provides computing, telephone and cable television services to the students, faculty, and staff of Calvin College. Get a picture of all the students in your course
Get a list of all the students in your course with pictures.Add a TA to your KnightVision course
If you want to add a TA or grader to your KnightVision course please fill-out the form Add/Remove/Modify the role of a person in your KnightVision course or organization . CIT will add your TA or grader within one business day.Be sure your Spring KnightVision course is available to your students
When you first start building your semester course it is not available to students. When you login to KnightVision and look at your My Course list on the My Calvin page you'll see an (unavailable) next to the course name. KnightVision is setup this way so you can work on your course before making it visible (available) to your students. Before your course begins you need to be sure your students can see the course.To make your course available:
1. Login to KnightVision and click on your course link.
2. Go into your course Control Panel.
3. Under Course Options click on Settings.
4. Select Course Availability.
5. Set course available to Yes.
6. Click on Submit.
Even though your course is available, each part of your KnightVision course can be made unavailable until you want your students to see it. Internet Explorer 7: Are you missing the menu bar and your favorites?
After installing IE 7, you will notice the menu bar and favorites are missing. They can easily be restored. Instructions for restoring the menu and favorites in IE 7.How students print in computer labs has changed
Because of problems with the printing pop-up window during the fall semester CIT has changed how students print documents in Calvin computer labs. When a student prints a document it will immediately be sent to the printer. Students no longer see a pop-up window with cost information prior to printing.
Students can check their Print Accounting Balance at http://www.calvin.edu/go/printbalance or...
Windows:
- Mouse over the Print Balance icon in the Windows system tray. Lower-right corner of the desktop.
- Click on the Print Quota Info icon on the Windows desktop.
Mac:
- Click on the Printer icon in the dock.
