Technology Budget Planning Process 2010
Calvin College provides funding for desktop computers and software through the Academic Technology Budget and the Administrative Technology Budget. These are centralized budgets, managed by CIT, that provide funding for both administrative and academic technology needs. This includes technology in public and departmental computer labs as well as Smart Classrooms.
Letters have been sent to department chairpersons, department directors, and/or department budget officers asking them to submit their technology requests through the annual budget request process. Budget requests are due back to CIT by February 26.
In order to streamline the budget process we are making changes to the process for 2010-2011. For small and routine requests we are implementing a "request when needed" strategy. Requests for routine items such as a software application or a computer for a new employee can be made when they are needed through the CIT HelpDesk. You no longer need to request these items in the budget in February and then wait until the new fiscal year for the requst to be filled.
