A new module "Resources: Faculty/Staff Directory Information" was added to your KV Resources tab

A new module for Resources: Faculty/Staff Directopry Information has been added to your Resources tab in KnightVision. This new module makes it easy to change your name, address, and privacy preferences and change your preferences for emergency notifications.

The new Resources: Faculty/staff demographics module has 2 sections:

Change name, address, and privacy preferences

  • Address Change form
    Use this link to update your home (permanent) address. Human Resources will forward your address change information to the appropriate benefit providers.
  • Name Display Preferences
    To make an official or legal name change, you MUST contact Human Resources.
    This form will NOT affect the name on your benefits, taxes, life insurance, paycheck, or pay-advice.
    • Use this form to modify the way your name displays online, in GroupWise and in the Names and Faces Directory.
    • Your name will be updated within twelve hours in the following systems:
      KnightVision, People Search
  • Printed directory privacy settings
    Update your privacy setting for the next Names & Faces directory.
  • Web (people search) directory privacy settings
    Update your privacy settings for the online directory.

Emergency Notifications


CIT has changed how students connect to Calvin's wireless network

As of Monday, August 25, students will no longer be able to connect to the CalvinWireless or airCalvin network. If they try to connect, the connection will be denied. They now need to connect to the "CalvinStudents" wireless network. .

We made this change so students connecting to CalvinStudents will go through the same registration page as students connecting to ResNet.

The registration process checks to be sure:

  • Symantec Endpoint antivirus software is installed and has the latest definition files. Calvin provides this software to all Calvin students free of charge.
  • automatic Windows updates is turned on (if applicable)
  • the firewall is turned on

This registration process helps us maintain a secure computing environment for all faculty, staff, and students. If you have a student having problems connecting to CalvinStudent, please have them contact the HelpDesk.
