Support for ResNet and CalvinWireless

Calvin's Information Technology HelpDesk will help you get your computer connected to ResNet and CalvinWireless as long as your computer meets the minimum requirements.

• CIT will not troubleshoot network connections on machines with illegal software installed.
• We reserve the right to suggest that you purchase a different brand or model of NIC if we are unable to get your computer connected to ResNet or CalvinWireless.

Virus and Spyware Removal

For a fee, Calvin's Information Technology HelpDesk provides a Virus and Spyware Removal service. Your computer will be checked for any viruses or spyware and clean the computer if any are found. The HelpDesk will also install Symantec Antivirus, configure the Windows firewall, set up your computer to receive automatic updates, and install all of the latest critical updates.

Software

The CIT HelpDesk will answer questions about features of supported software. Please see our SLA for Software. We will not install desktop software for you.

Diagnostic Services

The HelpDesk also provides diagnostic services on your computer. If you have any other problems with your computer that are not virus or spyware related, bring your computer to the HelpDesk for diagnosis. We will try and fix your computer as best as possible and if we cannot fix it we will offer suggestions and places you can bring your computer for repairs close to campus.

When you bring your computer in for diagnostic services please bring the following software:

When you purchase a computer you also receive CDs for the software and device drivers that are originally installed on it. Please bring these CDs with you along with the CDs for any other software that you have purchased and installed on your computer. In addition, be sure to bring any licensing information that you have for your computer and/or software. Although unusual, there are times that reinstalling software such as the Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office, device drivers, etc. are necessary. It is your responsibility to reinstall your software.
