Information Security Awareness Training

Cyber Security Awareness Training is an important part of being a member of the Calvin College Community. By making everyone aware of cyber threats and how best to avoid and respond to them, Calvin College will be a safer place for everyone.

Mandatory Online Training

The Calvin College Information Security Team offers several opportunities to raise awareness including mandatory online training for all staff and faculty.

This training is mandatory because the effectiveness against cyber threats is dependent on all staff and faculty being aware of what threats exist. When it comes to malware, phishing, and other threats we are only as strong as our weakest link. If this training is not completed, you are at risk of losing your technology access at Calvin.

Securing the Human

The College has chosen a well known partner in the security training industry, The SANS Institute. The SANS institute is providing to the College a set of training called Securing The Human. This is a training curriculum based upon industry best practices.

To access your training account please copy this link into your browser:

This online training is tied into Calvin's single sign on technologies and will use your familiar Calvin username and passphrase, as well as the familiar login page for the Outlook Web App and other online services. This is in place for your convenience.

You will also receive emails from the HelpDesk and securingthehuman.org as a part of the online service when training is available or for reminders.
