cable television services to the Calvin College community.

Once you're admitted to Calvin, you can set up your Calvin account and start getting connected!

Activate your computer account - TODAY

1. Your Calvin account

 

Your 7 digit Calvin ID number was sent to you shortly after your admission. Use this number to set up your Calvin account.

From here, you'll have access to StudentMail, enrollment forms and Financial Aid for admitted students.

Activated with your Calvin account, Calvin's StudentMail is powered by Google's Gmail service.

When you arrive on campus, get your computer connected to Calvin's network

1. Novell

Novell

After you activate your Novell account, you will have access to log in to any public lab computer on campus. It also allows you to print to any printer in those labs. With your Novell account, you will also be given online storage space to store academic and course materials.

2. Moodle

Moodle is Calvin's learning management system, used by professors as a place to store important information.

Calvin has a growing wireless network on campus. You may begin to set up wireless before you arrive, but the process can only be completed on campus.

No matter if you connect to wired or wireless Internet access, you will have to register your computer with our network.

Once you are on campus and connected to one of these two networks, open a Web browser (Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc.) and you will be directed to the registration pages. Your computer will pass registration as long as you meet our latest system requirements.

4. Antivirus Software

 

Calvin requires that up to date antivirus software (not a free trial) is installed on your computer before you can connect to our network. Most popular antivirus programs are accepted, but CIT recommends Microsoft Security Essentials or Windows Defender for PCs and Sophos for Apple computers.

5. Purchasing a Computer

If you plan to purchase a new computer or have a current computer you wish to bring to Calvin, please make sure it meets our latest system requirements.

6. Personal Technology Purchase Programs

Students may also purchase hardware and software (including Microsoft) at a discounted rate or through Calvin's Campus Store.
