Add, remove or modify a participant's role

Courses or organizations can be either individual sections or combined sections. An individual section will be labeled with a letter, taking a form similar to 11SP PHYS 120 A, while a combined section will be labeled with the professor's name, taking a form similar to 11SP PHYS 120 J. Calvin. In an individual section, the leader can make these changes themselves, but in a combined section, you must submit the information to the CIT.



Add a participant to a course

1. Click the Assign roles link in the Admin block of your course.

2. Select the role of the person being added.

3. Search for the person's name in the search box.

4. Highlight person's name and click Add.

Remove a participant from a course

  1. Go to the Assign roles link in the Admin block of your course.
  2. Select the role of the person being removed.
  3. Search for the person's name in the search box.
  4. Highlight person's name.
  5. Click Remove.


Modify the role of a person in your course or organization

To modify a person's role in your course, first remove their current role. Then, assign their new role by following the instructions for how to add a participant.

Additions, removals, and/or changes will take place upon completion of one or more of the steps above.



Combined sections

Only instructors or organization leaders can request the addition, removal or modifcation of a role of a participant in a course or organization. Please contact the HelpDesk with the following information:

  • Your name
  • The course semester, department, course number, and section letter
  • The name of the participant to be added or removed, or whose role is being modified
  • The participant's desired role

Once your request is received, a member of the HelpDesk will enter your request within twenty-four hours. Once your request has manually been entered, the system will then run the request at either noon or midnight depending upon when the request was entered by the HelpDesk. Therefore, requests may take up to thirty-six hours to be fully processed. Requests placed over the weekend will not be processed until Monday.
