Teaching & Learning: KnightVision T&L

KnightVision Courses

kv There are three kinds of courses available to instructors in KnightVision:
  • Master Courses
  • Collaborative Master Courses
  • Semester Courses

For example, an instructor who teaches BIO 141 will see three BIO 141 courses listed in KnightVision.

  • Master Course BIO-141
  • Collaborative Master BIO-141
  • 08FA_BIO-141-D
Master Courses

Instructors are provided with a Master Course (or a course shell) for every course they teach. Master Courses are never deleted; therefore, we encourage instructors to build and develop their courses in these Master Courses, and then copy the material into individual semester courses. Individual semester courses are deleted about two weeks after the grades for that semester were due.

Collaborative Master Courses

To encourage collaboration between colleagues, instructors are also provided access to the Collaborative Master Course(s) for any course(s) they are teaching which have multiple sections and instructors. This area can then be used to develop courses and share content. Collaborative Master Course can be copied into Semester Courses.

Semester Courses

Semester Courses are only available for the current semester. All semester courses are removed from KnightVision about two weeks after the grades for that semester are due. If there is content in your semester course(s) you would like to save, we encourage you to copy your course(s) back into your Master Course(s). You can also choose to archive your courses. Courses are automatically generated based on the schedule posted below. If you or your students temporarily need access to a course beyond the removal date, you may request a course extension using this online form.
